Dr. Martin Luther King book

Standard

We celebrated another birthday this week.  Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday was on January 15th.  The book gave a small introduction to who he is so the students could have an idea of what an important person in history he is.  Being able to celebrate his accomplishments is very important and so is an awareness of how he helped out with the Civil Rights movement.  Although all of the students participate in taking turns activating the voice output device, the adults in the room will typically have to help some of the students by verbally prompting them or by using hand-over-hand assistance.   This week in the fine motor group, however,  ALL of the students activated it by themselves (no hand-over-hand)!  Very exciting.
