IMG_0349Welcome to the after party! Each week after the weekly blog featuring activities in the elementary department is posted, our sensory cart is parked in the media center where it is available for check out by the rest of the school.

This post has photos of our middle and high school students during the month of November.

We had 3 great units—-Weather, Veterans Day, and What we eat at Thanksgiving. Read along to see all the fun they had.

IMG_0200IMG_8923The students had a lot of fun with the weather unit—-the snow and glowing “hail stones” were particular favorites.

IMG_8936Our themed umbrellas are always a favorite and this winter one is particularly lovely—–and fascinating to the students.

IMG_9836IMG_9804Veterans Day boxes were mostly red, white, and blue items such as our rice. We also included blue and red glitter in our oobleck. IMG_9807There was also a box filled with a variety of red, white, and/or blue items such as this very popular fluffy ball.

IMG_0336IMG_9827We moved a little from the red, white, and blue theme with our camo beans complete with little toy soldiers and a discovery bottle complete with Navy submarine!

IMG_0332                                                                        A week of fascinating fun and learning!

IMG_0692IMG_0716What we eat at Thanksgiving was a unit FILLED with color! The bright orange play spaghetti was a real attention getter!

IMG_0216IMG_0662The students loved exploring whipped (shaving) cream,  pop corn kernels and our homemade STUFFING scented play dough!

IMG_0353IMG_9911Cranberry oobleck made for an especially interesting texture—–some of the students liked it

IMG_9943                                                                                           ——others not so much 🙂

IMG_9947Our various bath gels always add an interesting element to our rinsing water. For this unit we used Pumpkin Pie scent—–fun and yummy!

IMG_0707By far the favorite items of this unit were our turkey and pilgrim hats, EVERYONE had a blast with them 🙂
