February After Party


IMG_5677Each week after the weekly blog featuring activities in the elementary department is posted, our sensory cart is parked in the media center where it is available for check out by the rest of the school.

This post has photos of our middle and high school students enjoying books and activities from some of our February themes.






IMG_6351IMG_6341We started the month learning about Groundhog Day. The students had fun exploring coffee ground groundhog burrows.

IMG_6347                                                                This coloring changing “winter snowball” was a huge hit!




IMG_5674IMG_5683Next we explored our very own state of Florida. We had bright and coloring boxes filled with flowers and other symbols of our “sunshine state”!

IMG_6365There were cool treasure ship discovery bottles, one filled with gold and the other with doubloons and jewels!

Slightly sticky hands were rinsed with citrus scented water and a “grapefruit” sponge 🙂








IMG_4850photo 1Mardi Gras week was so much fun and the students loved seeing their friends in the book which was made even more special by the backdrop painted by the students in art with Ms. Judy.

photo 3They did such a great job and we are so lucky to have such talented students helping us!

IMG_6404Mardi gras rice and mardi gras feathers were also favorite items to explore.

IMG_7076IMG_7160Our final unit brought back all the fun of our Florida Snow Day! There were lots of snowy white boxes to explore including Insta-snow, ice crystal like tapioca, and shaving cream.

IMG_7141The pom pom shaker and cleaning mitt were huge hits!
